Where to Stay
We suggest you stay in El Poblado, the best area in the city. It is the heart of the expat community and has plenty of restaurants, nightlife and nature. This will also be where the bride and groom will be staying.
Our budget options are an excellent way to save money while still getting excellent accommodations. Although most of them fall under the ‘hostel’ category, they have private room options that more closely resemble a hotel. Most also have amazing rooftop bars!
Budget Friendly Options:

Viajero Medellin
Hostels are a popular option in Medellin and offer the best of both worlds: private room and budget prices.

Masaya Medellin
Masaya is a local favourite and has an awesome rooftop pool and bar. We spent many nights drinking margaritas and playing pool here.

Hostel Rango Boutique
Rango has an excellent location and offers yoga classes on their rooftop - perfect if you're wanting to get some relaxation in during the holiday!
Treat Yo Self Options:
We’re excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you. Medellin is full of great restaurants, experiences, museums and much more. We appreciate that for many of you, this trip is not just a wedding trip so we want to make sure you see the best the city has to offer.

The Click Clack Hotel
This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Zona Rosa, where you will find great restaurants and nightlife. We love the rooftop restaurant and highly recommend the ceviche!

The Charlee Hotel
The Charlee has the best rooftop pool, as voted by travellers, in Medellin which makes it a must see. Even if you don't stay here, we suggest you visit for brunch,

Pergamino El Poblado
If you are anything like us, you'll want to check out the best coffee in the city. Pergamino is a favourite and the first place I go to when I visit the city.

Parque Arvi
Nature is everywhere in Medellin but a trip to Parque Arvi is a must. After a ride up the mountains on a gondola, you'll be immersed in nature and get one of the best experiences of ecotourism. We recommend you hire a horse to check out the parks' forests and grab some delicious Colombian snacks.

Comuna 13
A little off the beaten path, Comuna 13 offers a look into one of the most dangerous areas of the city in the 90s. Don't worry, it has become a tourist haven since with amazing grafiti and a rich history. You can book a tour or check it out at your leisure.
Discover Colombia

Valle del Cocora
This amazing valley is a must see! It is in the heart of the coffee belt and has the most stunning views. A short flight from Medellin, or a day-long journey on a bus, it is definitely worth all the hype it gets. Check out the link for a blog post on what to do in Cocora. We recommend making this a part of your travels.

Town of Salento
While visiting the coffee belt, you must stop by Salento - the most charming colonial town. It is very close to the valley and has a small population but huge tourism. You will find plenty of hacienda-style lodges and tour companies that do anything from day tours, to overnight excursions. We recommend using GetYourGuide to book tours.

Cartagena
Cartagena is probably one of the most popular travel destinations in Colombia. It is a short flight from Medellin and right on the Caribbean coast. It's the perfect weekend getaway and has so much to offer from great restaurants, nightlife, culture, and history. Check out the link for more information on travelling to Cartagena.
For some, travelling to Colombia will be a first. Although there is plenty to do in and around Medellin, these are three must-see suggestions. We can personally say that they are breath-taking experiences you will never forget!
